America's Next Top Model Week 11: The Search for the Final Three

Marcellas Reynolds READ TIME: 7 MIN.

Previously on America's Next Top Model Marjorie annoyed everyone including herself with her paralyzing self-doubt and Elina got the boot because her rigid demeanor left her stunted week after week. 4 girls remain as we come into the home stretch! Annaleigh, Marjorie, McKey and Sam and at this point in the game it's still anyone's race.

The show opens with the girls at the house and Sam exalting in having the top photo of the week. Marjorie is reflecting on being in the bottom 2 and is trying to put her nerves in perspective. The girls are all trying to help her find her edge but (with sad music playing) Marjorie laments being lost. Annaleigh tells her, "it's just acting. Just a little bit of acting." And that is the truth. A good model is an actress. A chameleon, able to morph into any role.

The next morning the 4 remaining girls hit the streets and head off to their next lesson. The walk into a huge brightly lit room and there in a chic purple coat dress is Paulina Porizkova. She begins the lesson with "as models our job is to sell and 90% of the time we sell things without speaking." I'd make that 99%. Most models, like children, should be seen and not heard. All around Paulina are curiously stocked tables. The lesson is how to sell a product wordlessly. Um mm... I need a gig on this show as consulting producer because these challenges are getting lamer and lamer. On one table there is herring and the girls need to use smell to sell the herring and their faces to communicate desire. Next up is toilet paper. Annaleigh rubs it on her face. Crazy. Next is a cell phone and Paulina yells out emotions the girls must non-verbally communicate. Annaleigh is a natural actress who needs to be aware of the camera. McKey is too model-y. Marjorie is good because of her believability as her emotions are so accessible. And Sam is a clown who is really good at showing happiness. So says Paulina.

Back at the house the girls receive Tyra Mail and think they are shooting another commercial. McKey and Sam are discussing how hard the competition is and how hard they are working and how badly they desire final 3. The remaining girls are really feeling the strain of the competition and stress of being so close to winning. The models head back out to their challenge which takes place at Amsterdam Worldwide one of the top boutique ad agencies in the country. Paulina tells them that they are about to audition for a 30 second commercial for trainers. Through super cute story boards we get that the girl will be out for a jog, make eye contact with a cute guy and when his cab stops and he exits the girl just runs up to him, jumps on him and kisses him smack on the lips. So cute, right?

And then the girls are introduced to the male model they will be working with. Down the winding staircase comes legendary Dutch male supermodel Mark Vanderloo. Okay this cameo is good as hell! Mark and his boys ran the business in the mid to late 90s. Mark and his crew; Alex Lundquist, Jason Lewis, Jason Shaw and Tyson Beckford gave the female supermodels a run for their money! Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, Versace; the man is legendary and still looks very good. But he is a lil old to be the love interest in a shoot with these girls. Hey I'm just saying.

Sam pronounces kissing Mark Vanderloo, "weird." You wouldn't be able to pull me off him.

But it gets better. The winner will receive a $10,000 shopping spree at G Star Denim. Yes one of the (coolest) premiere denim lines in the world. That is a very good thing. The girls are stoked.

The first girl up is Sam but instead of being on a set they are in the office in front of an exec from the ad company and Paulina. And there's a treadmill. I knew this was too good to be true! The girls are supposed to pretend all this action. Stupid! Sam does well. Next up is Annaleigh who is quite an actress. Next is McKey who is a little stiff and odd. And finally we get Marjorie who decides she's just going to have fun! She was super cute. Paulina give the girls critiques; Sam is adorable but over the top. Hammy. Annaleigh was cute and sweet and she's a good actress. McKey was a good flirt but the kiss was unconvincing. And then Marjorie was awkward and honest. The winner is Marjorie! Wow. She picks Annaleigh to share in her win. And she splits her win evenly! I'm actually liking Marjorie for that!

Back at the house the the girls get Tyra Mail but a newly confident Marjorie is focused less on tomorrow's challenge than calling up the boys who drove the girls around in the agency challenge. On the phone she asks them to bring wine. The boys show with pizza and liquor! Marjorie is drinking though the other girls aren't. They then decide to play charades. Then cards (Sam), wrestling (McKey), and boy in heels drunkenly doing runway (Annaleigh and Marjorie). And now the party gets messy with truth or dare and Marjorie making out with a boy. Next Marjorie finds herself in the bathtub fully clothed with a boy. Yeah, she drunk.

Annaleigh wants to close the party down so nothing bad happens. It got a bit out of control. But that is what it's about isn't it!? And it wasn't a sleazy repeat of Shandi (ANTM Cycle 2) boning an Italian model in the bathtub so all is well! It's sweet the way the girls take care of Marjorie.

Cut to the girls at the photo challenge with Mr. Jay. They are on the Dutch countryside with windmill in background. The hair and make-up are going to be extreme and the girls must shine through. The photographer Barrie Hullegie is super cute. I'm telling you I'm heading to Amsterdam. All these Dutch boys are hot. First up is Annaleigh. Her outfit is stupid and not in a cool way. Annaleigh works it. She tried lots of different poses and emotions while posing with a rake. Next up is Marjorie who though having fun and being light is still very awkward and not in that cool model girl chic way. Moving on to Sam. Her outfit is awful. Unbelievably she struggles. She blames it on her shoes which hurt. There is no excuse to blow it at this stage in the game! She redeems herself in the final frames but is it enough? Now is McKey. McKey is a fighter and she brings that to the set. She's athletic and wants to take risks.

Back at the house Sam is tearful about her bad performance. And Marjorie is drinking. Let's cut to panel! I'm on pins and needles because all the girls did well in the shoot. Even Sam though she faltered. The girls file in and Tyra lists the prizes. Blah blah Covergirl contract. Blah blah blah Elite. Tyra then introduces the judges. Darn it the special judge isn't supermodel Mark Vanderloo or the super cute photographer it's Ann Shocket editor of Seventeen. What a rip-off?!

The first girl up is McKey. The judges love her outfit. It's shorts and tights and she looks hot. McKey's pic is amazing and the panel generally likes it. Next is Marjorie who won the model challenge. Her photo is good. Fashion-y. Tyra tells her that her film was boring. Sam comes up and the judges love her photo but Tyra tells her her film was just okay. Last but by no means least is Annaleigh wearing suspenders and looking adorable. Annaleigh's photo is slamming. She leaps in her photo and it's caught at the perfect moment. Ann calls it "cool." Paulina proclaims it "perfect." The girls file out and deliberation commences.

Deliberation begins with Tyra saying how hard this week is going to be. All the girls performed well. First is Annaleigh. They love the photo but jay points out she hasn't delivered many great photos throughout the competition. Sam is next and Paulina points out that Sam always give good photo. They then all agree that in person she doesn't read model. Marjorie's photo is strangely editorial though she is just standing there. The judges agree she has that it. Nigel no longer finds her charming. McKey is fantastic. Tyra loves McKey. The judges have reached a decision.

The 4 remaining girls file back in. The winning photo of the week is... Annaleigh. That picture is one of the best in ANTM history. Next is McKey. McKey's body is amazing. That means Marjorie and Sam are bottom 2. Sam is in tears. Tyra says "two of you stand before me." "Marjorie you take exquisite photos but your film is flat." Tyra says Marjorie has lost her spark. Tyra then turns to Sam. "Samantha for some reason you just don't get it and that just works the judges nerves." Tyra says Sam still doesn't look like a model, stand like a model or project model.

And the girl that makes the cut is Sam! Tyra tells her that being a model isn't something that you just act, it's something you have to be. Sam is still in the running and as I predicted last week Marjorie is out. Tyra hugs her and tells her she's special. Marjorie graciously thanks the judges then collapses into Annaleigh's arms and they both cry. You can tell this is a genuine friendship. Marjorie is one of the rare girls from this series you know that as a model we shall see again. Au revoir ma cherie. Until we meet again.
